Well, the last few days of July were a real blessing. I had the blessed opportunity to preach three times in a five day revival, hosted by the Victory Baptist Church and Pastor Jaysen Brown, on the Barona Indian Reservation. It was fantastic!
On Monday evening I preached from Matthew 16:13-25. The title of the message was “Recognizing the Person of Christ but Rejecting the Purpose of Christ.” God moved in a great way! On Tuesday evening, my text was 2 Chronicles 7:14, but we looked at many other passages, and I preached on the “Humility: The First Pre-requisite to Corporate and Personal Revival.” On my last night in the revival, I preached a message “Do You Love Jesus Unconditionally?” from John 21:15-21.
While God definitely moved in the services all three evenings, I would have to say the hi-light of my three days on the reservation was soul-winning on the Reservation on Wednesday morning. Not only did I get to go out with a young Indian from the Reservation named Touschon, but, I was able to share the Gospel with a 25-year old Indian named Joshua who trusted Christ. I found out later that Touschon (my soul-winning partner) was going to be baptized the following Sunday. Praise The Lord!
Please pray that God will continue to bless the seeds that were sown during the 10 preaching services and the soul-winning on the Barona Indian Reservation!
On the first Sunday in August, I had the privilege to teach Sunday school and preach in the morning at my home church, as well as preach in the evening service. On Sunday evening, I preached a message, “Don’t Let the Dream Die” from Acts 16:5-10. Basically, it was a message encouraging our church family to “Keep the Dream Alive” that God had put in my brother, Pastor Joe Esposito’s heart. If you are interested in hearing the message, it can be found here: http://www.pacificbaptist.com/sermons/
Please pray that God will continue to “keep the dream alive” for the 1040 window, Southeast Asia and China at Pacific Baptist Church and Pacific Baptist Bible College. Also, keep praying for a miracle in my brother’s life!
Early Monday August 4, my wife and I flew from Los Angeles to Detroit, Michigan. Over the next three weeks we are scheduled to be with six different churches, including my wife’s home church. We covet your prayers.
For HIS Glory in the Nations,
Johnny and Denise Esposito
